About
(Simon Dam · Enschede)
I don’t really work from a fixed style. The idea decides what it should look and feel like.
I’m Simon Dam, designer and art director in Enschede. I work with creative agencies, cultural organisations and companies with a good reason for doing what they do. Branding, art direction, motion, digital, and lately a lot of AI. Most of the time it’s just me. When a project asks for more, I bring in people from my network to make it bigger and better.
My desk is at Spinnerij Oosterveld, an old textile mill in Enschede, in a studio I share with Noah van der Heide and Klaas Meinema, both cinematographers, and Dylan Brouwer, web designer. Different trades, the same conversations: light, timing, and what makes a thing feel right.
I live in a tiny house in Twente that my girlfriend Iris Nolten designed, with Bram, a wire-haired dachshund who hears every word and listens to none of them. Off duty: hiking, chess, baking, and making things for the fun of it.
Good ideas deserve good design. That’s pretty much it.
